Pricing

Three plans.
One difference.

Every plan unlocks the entire application. What changes between them is your monthly dictation allowance — because dictation is the only thing Clodex pays for on your behalf, and so the only thing there is to meter.

The short answer

Starter is $15/mo, Pro is $25/mo and Max is $50/mo month-to-month — or $12, $20 and $40 a month when billed yearly, a flat 20% off charged once a year.

There is no free tier. An active plan is required to use the app. Pro comes with a 3-day free trial for new customers, which converts to a paid plan rather than lapsing into a free one.

You also need Claude Code or Codex. They run on your own subscription or API key and Clodex never meters that usage — which also means Clodex cannot supply it for you.

Starter
$15/mo
or $12/mo billed yearly — $144 a year

For side projects and shipping your first real thing.

500 dictation credits a month — about 33 hours
Max
$50/mo
or $40/mo billed yearly — $480 a year

For heavy daily use, with the largest dictation budget.

2,000 dictation credits a month — about 133 hours

The plans compared

Both billing periods are shown together rather than behind a toggle, so there is nothing to click to find out what the other one costs.

Plan Monthly Yearly Billed once a year Dictation credits
Starter $15/mo $12/mo $144 — saves $36 500 — about 33 hours
Pro $25/mo $20/mo $240 — saves $60 1,000 — about 67 hours
Max $50/mo $40/mo $480 — saves $120 2,000 — about 133 hours

The yearly figures are monthly equivalents; the charge itself is annual. A credit is one cent of transcription cost, and the hour figures are an approximation derived from the current rate — the dictation guide explains why the allowance is written in credits rather than minutes.

What every plan includes

This list is identical on Starter, Pro and Max. Nothing in it is gated behind a higher tier, and nothing in it is metered.

On all three plans
  • Claude Code and Codex, side by side on one project and one live preview.
  • Every design tool on the live preview — move, resize, spacing, colour, typography, z-index, text in place, crop and feather, box-and-ask.
  • Visual edits written back to real source files, as ordinary code, with metadata recording where they came from.
  • Live Ask — change or add a prompt mid-run, in parallel, without stopping the agent.
  • Image generation on any model, including Claude, without leaving the app.
  • Agents working in parallel, and every app connection Clodex supports.
  • Your code, exportable, always — an ordinary project on your disk with nothing proprietary to untangle.
Why the tiers do not differ on features: gating the design tools would mean selling an environment that is deliberately worse than it could be, and the environment is the entire product. Dictation is metered because Clodex is billed by the hour for it. Everything else costs the same to serve whether you use it once or all day, so it is priced that way.

What you need as well

Worth stating before anyone pays, because it is the one thing a subscription here does not cover.

Clodex runs Claude Code and Codex against your project. Those agents are what write the code, and they run on your own Anthropic or OpenAI access — a Claude subscription or API key, a ChatGPT subscription or an OpenAI key. Clodex does not resell tokens, does not mark them up and adds no meter on top of your agent usage. The direct consequence is that it cannot give you that access either: without at least one of the two, there is nothing for the environment to drive.

If you are choosing between them, the comparison covers where each runs, how you configure it and what each actually costs.

Billing, cancelling and refunds

The terms in short
  • Monthly or yearly, your choice, renewing automatically until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe.
  • Cancel any time from Billing in the app or on the web dashboard. Cancelling ends the renewal; you keep access to the end of the period already paid for.
  • Changing plan is done from the same place, including switching between monthly and yearly.
  • Refunds where a charge was mistaken — a duplicate, a plan already cancelled, a renewal after a failed cancellation — in full, whenever identified.
  • Not a trial period. A change of mind is handled by cancelling, not refunding, and a partly used period is not refunded. Statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
  • Money spent with your AI provider is not ours to refund. Clodex never receives it.

Common questions

How much does Clodex cost?

Three plans, all paid: Starter at $15/mo, Pro at $25/mo and Max at $50/mo month-to-month, or $12, $20 and $40 when billed yearly — a flat 20% off, charged once a year as $144, $240 and $480.

Every plan unlocks the whole app; the only difference is your monthly dictation credits — 500, 1,000 and 2,000.

Is there a free version of Clodex?

No. There is no free tier and no free plan — an active Starter, Pro or Max subscription is required to use the application.

Pro is offered with a 3-day free trial for new customers, which converts into a paid plan rather than lapsing into a free one. Clodex is paid desktop software and would rather say so than advertise a tier that does not exist.

What is the difference between the Clodex plans?

Only the monthly dictation allowance: 500 credits on Starter, 1,000 on Pro and 2,000 on Max.

Every other capability — running Claude Code and Codex, the live preview, every design tool, image generation, all app connections, exporting your code — is identical on all three plans and is not metered. There is no feature gated behind a higher tier.

Do I need a Claude or ChatGPT subscription as well?

Yes — and it is the most important thing to know before buying. Clodex is the environment; Claude Code and Codex do the building, and they run on your own subscription or API key.

Clodex does not resell tokens and adds no meter on top of your agent usage, which also means it cannot supply that access for you. Without at least one of them, Clodex has nothing to run.

Can I cancel Clodex at any time?

Yes, from Billing inside the application or on the web dashboard.

Cancelling stops the renewal rather than cutting access immediately — you keep the plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, monthly or yearly, after which it lapses.

Does Clodex offer refunds?

Where a charge was mistaken or the fault is ours — a duplicate charge, a plan already cancelled, or a renewal after a failed cancellation — refunded in full whenever identified.

They are not offered as a trial period: a change of mind is handled by cancelling rather than refunding, and a partly used period is not refunded. Statutory consumer rights are unaffected. The full text is in the Refund Policy.

How much do I save by paying yearly?

A flat 20% on every plan. Yearly is charged once as $144 for Starter, $240 for Pro or $480 for Max.

That works out at $12, $20 and $40 a month against $15, $25 and $50 month-to-month — a saving of $36, $60 or $120 a year.

Pro is free for three days.
